Little Creek Nature Area to Host Earth Day Celebration
The Ferguson-Florissant School District’s 97-acre nature preserve, Little Creek Nature Area, will host an Earth Day celebration from 8 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, April 22 at Little Creek, 2295 Dunn Road in Florissant.
Attendees will be able to participate in various activities that include witnessing a rehabilitated bird release and raptor show, hiking the nature preserve’s ADA-accessible trails, taking an Audubon Society bird-watching walk, visiting with and feeding farm animals, making a reusable bag from upcycled t-shirts and planting a tree. The event will also include a 10 a.m. presentation of the Green Ribbon School Awards to Ferguson-Florissant schools that promote sustainable practices in energy usage, gardening, recycling and waste reduction, water run-off and erosion.
