State of the District Focuses on Student Success

During the State of the District, Superintendent Dr. Joseph Davis addressed the community, emphasizing the district’s dedication to student achievement and well-being as it undergoes a comprehensive budget review.

Davis highlighted investments in key areas, including the implementation of new English Language Arts (ELA) and Math curriculum based on evidence-based strategies. The District aims to expand early childhood education, with a target to increase preschool enrollment by 6.25% this year.

A critical area for growth, student attendance, is being actively addressed with the help of wellness partnerships, such as Hazel Health, which supports students' physical and mental health needs. This partnership has already improved attendance rates, reinforcing the district’s commitment to reducing chronic absenteeism and supporting families.

Davis noted recent positive shifts in the District’s culture and climate, largely due to feedback from parents, students, and staff. He encouraged continued community involvement, stating, “Your voices are essential to our progress.”
