• The FFSD Continuous School Improvement Plan or CSIP is based upon DESE’s MSIP-6 and rooted in our Anti-Racist Standards and Strategic Plan. The planning process for the CSIP began with the development of the Anti-Racist Standards starting in August 2020.  With the development of the Anti-Racist Standards underway, FFSD began the strategic planning process in May of 2021. Both of these processes engaged and included core groups of internal and external stakeholders representing a broad cross-section of the district and including students, parents, staff, administration, Board members, members of the business community, higher education, municipal services including law enforcement, and elected officials. Stakeholder feedback was gathered through surveys, participation in ThoughtExchanges, and other methods. In addition to regular meetings of the steering and change team committees, intermittent meetings were held in small and large groups to inform and engage the greater community.

Board members received regular updates on the process and progress and participated in study sessions to fully understand and provide guidance and direction in the development of both the Anti-Racist Standards and the strategic plan.To ensure alignment of all three guiding documents, the Anti-Racist Standards, the Strategic Plan, and the CSIP, the narrowing of the focus to a limited number of goals for the CSIP began following the approval of the strategic plan.  A first meeting of the CSIP steering committee was held where the approved strategic plan was reviewed along with the data used to determine the needs for the strategic plan, and the CSIP committee comprised of members of the strategic plan steering committee and the Superintendent’s student, parent, and teacher advisory councils.

Of the 20 goals outlined in the strategic plan, the committee surfaced the four highest priority goals to be included in the CSIP.

Academic Achievement - By the2027-2028 schoolyear, there will be a 3% annual decrease in the number of students in the below basic category in Math and ELA.

Learning Experiences for Students Birth-Pre-K- By the 2027-2028 school year, FFSD will increase the enrollment opportunities of early childhood participants by at least 25%.

Promote and Support Well-Being for All Students- By the 2027-2028 school year, 80% of all FFSD students will have at least a 90%attendance rate.

Create a Healthy Climate and Culture- By the 2027-2028 school year, FFSD will show improvement in the overall district culture as indicated by a 5% increase in the rating as measured by the DESE Culture and Climate Survey.
