Mr. Derek R. Bridges

Mr. Bridges holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Kansas and an Elementary Education Certificate from Northwestern University. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Abilene Christian University.

Before coming to Combs, Mr. Bridges was the assistant principal at Keysor Elementary in Kirkwood School District. With over a decade in the education field, Mr. Bridges also served as a teacher in Webster Groves School District, Clark County School District, and Chicago Public Schools. His experience includes serving as a professional educator intern with the National Park Service, a council member for the Teacher Advisory Committee for the Judicial Learning Center at the Thomas Eagleton Federal Courthouse, a board member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Consortium for Educational Renewal, a mentor teacher for the Saudia Arabia Cultural Ministry's Educational Improvement Initiative, a member of the National Network for Educational Renewal, and a member of the National League of Democratic Schools. in 2017, he was awarded the Federal Bar Association's Excellence in Civics Education National Award. He also served in the United States Air Force.

Dr. Renetta Batteast

Dr. Batteast holds a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Maryville University, a master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from Webster University, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lindenwood University, a master’s degree in Reading from Webster University, and a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management with a minor in Computer Science from Webster University. She has certifications in Principal K-8, Elementary Education 1-6, Gifted Education K-12, and Special Reading K-12.

Dr. Batteast's educational career with the Ferguson-Florissant school district began in 2004. Prior to serving as the assistant principal at Combs, she served as a classroom teacher at Airport Elementary, moving on to Instructional Support Leadership roles at Griffith Intermediate and Robinwood Intermediate schools.

Mrs. Alicia Eastman

Mrs. Alicia Eastman holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  She also holds Early Childhood and Elementary certifications.

Mrs. Eastman has served the Ferguson-Florissant School District since 2004. She spent 14 years as a classroom teacher and  is currently the Instructional Support Leader at Combs.
