Ferguson-Florissant School District is proud to announce that STEAM Middle Academy has been named a Missouri Gold Star School by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This prestigious recognition is awarded to only eight schools across the state for exceptional academic achievement and student growth.

As a Missouri Gold Star School, STEAM Middle is now nominated for the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award, a national honor presented by the U.S. Department of Education to schools demonstrating overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps.

“Congratulations to the students, teachers, and staff members at each of these schools for earning this recognition,” said DESE Commissioner of Education Dr. Karla Eslinger. “These schools demonstrate that academic excellence is possible while striving to help their students find their path to success. We’re so proud of their hard work.”

The Missouri Gold Star Schools program, established in 1991, aligns with the criteria used for the U.S. Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Schools Program. Blue Ribbon honorees will be announced this fall.
