Chief Human Resources Officer

Katy Chambers has served as Director of Equity – Operations in Special School District of St. Louis County since 2023. Prior to that role, she was the executive director of human resources for Brentwood School District. From 2010-2021, she served as a secondary school principal in both Hazelwood and Ferguson-Florissant school districts. She began her career in Ferguson-Florissant in 2006 as a social studies teacher and department chair.

Chambers brings more than 20 years of experience in education and leadership. Her work has focused on human resource management, leadership development, systems design, and building school-community partnerships.

“I’m thrilled to return to Ferguson-Florissant School District as Chief Human Resources Officer. Having served this community for most of my career, this opportunity truly feels like a homecoming,” said Chambers. "In recent years, I’ve worked outside the district and gained new experiences that I’m eager to bring back in service of Ferguson-Florissant. These tools will help me lead our human resources team with a focus on high-quality service and dedication to the staff and students who make this district so special. I’m committed to supporting the recruitment, well-being, and retention of the individuals who serve our students each day.”

Chambers holds a doctorate in educational administration from Lindenwood University, a master's degree from Saint Louis University, and a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University. She also holds a Missouri superintendent certification and an advanced graduate certificate in human resource management from Washington University in St. Louis.
