Missouri Options / HiSet Program Information
Ferguson-Florissant School District -- Missouri Option Program
The Missouri Options Program serves high school students who are significantly behind in credits. This program will allow students to receive a Ferguson-Florissant School District High School diploma with their cohort/graduating class or soon after. The following links will provide more information about the program and how to enroll your child.

Program Requirements
- Student must be a resident of the Ferguson-Florissant School District (enroll at Admissions if not currently enrolled in a FFSD school).
- Student must be 17 years or older.
- Student must be at least one year or more behind their cohort (kindergarten) class.
- Student must have earned credit for Health, Personal Finance, Government (Citizenship), the Missouri Constitution test, and the United States Constitution test.
- Student must score on an 8th grade level or higher in reading, math, and language on the TABE test.
- Students must be enrolled in academic instruction for 15 hours per week.
- Student must have an approved job or volunteer position, working 15 hours a week or more.
- Enroll in the Missouri Connections Program (post-secondary and occupational exploration activities and complete a Career Portfolio).
- Student must have a MO Driver’s License or MO State ID (non-driver).
- Student must pay for the cost of the High School Equivalency Test ($95 for HiSET) Go to the following website to learn more about the HiSET test: http://hiset.ets.org/
Requirements to Obtain a Ferguson-Florissant School District High School Diploma
- The student must have passed Health, Personal Finance, Government (Citizenship), the Missouri Constitution test, and the United States Constitution test.
- The student must take the required EOC tests for Government, English II, Biology, and Algebra.
- The student will study the five subjects that are on the High School Equivalency Test examination: Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Science during the 15 hours of academic instruction each week.
- The student must work or volunteer 15 or more hours each week.
- Complete post-secondary and occupational exploration activities and complete a Career Portfolio through Missouri Connections -- http://dese.mo.gov/divcareered/missouriconnections.htm
- The student must pass the High School Equivalency Test examination.
- Once the student passes the High School Equivalency Test examination, he or she no longer will attend school. However, the student must work or volunteer 30 hours a week until graduation (December or May graduate of their cohort group), checking in with the instructor once a week or every payday. 5th year seniors graduate immediately.
Additional Information
- Be advised that students will not be eligible to participate in high school extra-curricular sport activities under the rules of MSHSAA.
- Students can attend dances at their home school, if they meet the school requirements to attend the dances.
- Students will have the opportunity to participate in the May graduation ceremony when the entire program has been successfully completed.
- A student will have ONE opportunity to complete the program. Reinstatement in the Missouri Option Program will not be available.
- IEP and 504 accommodations are available. Please see the MO Option teacher or SSD case manager for more information.
- Entry to the program depends on completion of required courses, Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) results, and space availability.
TABE Testing
- The TABE test (3½ hours) will be given on Fridays at Mark Twain at 8:00 AM with Ms. Frey or Ms. Laytham(starting the last Friday in August).

- The home school must also submit the MO Option In-Take Form prior to taking the TABE test (via email as attachment).
