-
The Ferguson-Florissant Professional Development Committee (PDC) is composed of teacher, principal, and district leader representatives. Additionally, the Executive Director of Professional Learning and Leadership serves on the committee. The PDC has responsibility as stated in the Excellence in Education Act of 1985 and the Outstanding Schools Act of 1993. The Committee meets regularly during the school year to plan professional learning and to provide support and assistance for staff development as outlined in the CSIP.
The PDC receives ongoing training at quarterly meetings on exemplary models of professional development, effective professional development practices, and current research on professional development. PDC members are provided release time or a stipend so that they can attend meetings. PDC members are required to serve on their building’s ILT, providing leadership in the planning and design of professional development at the school site.
The PDC oversees the expenditure of professional development monies from the district’s 1% allocated budget as outlined in the Missouri Professional Development Guidelines.
